Frequently asked questions

This charter has a max of 6 Anglers.
Yes, there is a Marine Head on board. While a Marine Head is considered a bathroom it is very small amd really only suitable for #1 visits!:) We highly encourage guest to use the full size restroom at the Excursion Hub pick up point.
We get this question a lot. Becoming seasick is always a possibility for those who are prone to it. We suggest guest that are prone to sea sickness take the appropriate measure by using a patch or by taking dramamine. The waters are generally calm during the summer months and on the days when the wind and tide do make the water choppy, the motion of the boat is not of the kind that induces motion sickness.
The Silver Spoon is a custom aluminum catamaran made by Munson Co Inc. It is fully-equipped with all available fishing & safety gear. The boat has a heated cabin, restroom, and comfortable seating for all.
Any fish you catch, within the limits, are yours to keep if you’d like. We work with a local fish processor to have your catch processed and shipped to your home. If you would like to pay the processor to process and ship, there are easy order form cards for you to fill out on board so that you can keep track of your fish and ensure it is processed to your specifications.
Alaska requires everyone over the age of 16 to possess a valid Alaskan Fishing license. A One Day License costs $15. King Salmon anglers also need a corresponding King Salmon Stamp. Fishing licenses should be purchased online head of time.
Yes! The walk to town is beautiful! It is about 1.5 miles. If you decide to wak to town be sure and give yourself enough time. You will need to Check In at the tours desk inside, "The Shops by HTA"(See location on Google) in front of the Hoonah Harbormaster office. They will get you a wristlet and tell what time you need to be infront of the store to connect with your tour guide.
If your ship is docked at the Wilderness Dock, exit the ship and walk up the dock and to the right. Ride the Green Transporter Gondola(4 minute ride) to the Adventure Landing. Exit the Gondola and go left, follow the signs down the gravel path 3 minutes to the Excursion Hub. We ask that you check in for your tour 15 minutes early and we leave on time. While the Gondola transports up to 2K guests per hour, please account for longer lines when the ship first arrives.
If your ship is docked at the Adventure Dock, proceed ashore to the Icy Strait Point Adventure Center. Once inside the Adventure Center walk through the building and exit through door number “2”. (This is clearly marked above the door). Once outside the door, look for the Excursion Hub Sign(s). Follow the signs on the gravel path to the Excursion Hub.
